We didn't eat at Duff's

This isn't going to be much of a report, as it's a full week late! I did, however, want to post a few photos and highlights. :)

As I've already mentioned, one of the highlights of the weekend for me was having the opportunity to spend some time on Friday visiting, shopping, and just having a generally swell time. Here's one of Debbie's photos from Friday afternoon, after we didn't have lunch at Duff's. ;)

A group of us had dinner at Montana's on Friday before the convention officially started. The best thing about Montana's, IMHO, is the paper and crayons on the tables! Whee!

It was at this fateful dinner that I first doodled my now semi-famous Beaver and Bunny. (I've been drawing the beaver since high school. Bunny is new.)

Of course, this prompted Debbie to declare that I would soon be releasing an online comic strip featuring the fuzzy woodland creatures. Since I didn't have my camera out at this dinner, I thank Walter (lord_korak) for snapping this:

Okay, beyond this, I've lost all memory of what happened when. ;)

Highlights of the weekend, for me:

• The lovely and talented nMC. I especially enjoyed their arrangement of Chocolate is a Vegetable and their performance of Gone Filkin' with Tom.
• The Playing Rapunzel concert...um, all of it, but I especially liked their parody of Home (hee!) and the performance of Sholem with Urban Tapestry. Gorgeous. As I said on someone's journal, I cried at the end out of sheer joy for having heard something so beautiful. Sigh.

In addition to being remarkable singers and musicians, Mich and Marilisa are simply lovely people. :)

Oh, let's see...what else...

• Seeing filkertom, both in performance and in conversation.
• Meeting folkmew, even though we didn't get to talk much!
• The Sunday children's concert, during which UT plotted to bring me up front to participate in Rattlin' bog...

• Bidding in the voice auction for the first time ever! (but losing!)
• Spending some down time in UT's room with Walter and Sib.
• Sharing my brownies!
• Truffles. Mmmmmmmmm.

There are probably a hundred things I'm forgetting, but I'll just say that it was a lovely time all around! You can view the rest of my photos (not that there are a great many) here.
