Wow, that's a lot of TV! Seen at [personal profile] fifthhouse.

  • Bold all of the following TV shows which you’ve ever seen 3 or more episodes of in your lifetime.
  • Italicize a show if you’re positive you’ve seen every episode of it.
  • If you want, add up to 3 additional shows (keep the list in alphabetical order).

Okay...when I was just out of college, my then-boyfriend placed a beloved series of fantasy novels in my hands, telling me that I must read them because they were his favorite books ever. I read them, and I enjoyed them, I guess...but I remember being really, really angry (like throwing the book across the room angry) at the end. The male protagonist left his pregnant wife because he had some Very Important Task to do, which everything he had done before was leading up to, which was going to suck the life and energy out of him or something. But the wife was okay with it, because she was carrying his child, the symbol of their eternal love and yada yada yada.

I cannot, for the life of me, remember what this series of books was. Any thoughts? It was his favorite from when he was a kid, so it would be something that had been in print for quite a while, and something youth-appropriate.

There was another one that an acquaintance recommended to me later on, and I can't remember if this one was a single novel or a trilogy, but it was definitely adult...female protagonist, started out present-day, our world. She's kinda mousy and unassuming, but then she gets pulled into another world (through a mirror, IIRC) where she becomes some kind of warrior-princess. I also remember something about the color green.

Do either of those ring a bell for anyone?

With some help from a non-LJ friend, it seems that the second one is The Mirror of Her Dreams by Stephen Donaldson.
