(no subject)

A brief update for the non-facebook crowd...my grandfather died last night. He was 93, and his health has been failing, so it wasn't unexpected. (not that this makes it better, or easier. Grief is grief, after all...)

Something I haven't mentioned on facebook yet is that my sadness is mixed with panic, as I am scheduled to attend a convention (for a local alumnae assocation, which I serve as president) in Arizona tomorrow through Sunday. So, you know...plane tickets and registration (which included the hotel), which the organization is on the hook for. I'm waiting for word from home re: arrangements before I enter full panic mode.
